Overview
This article breaks down the natural onboarding, training and general support journey for a new implementing partner, including each IP Admin, Regional Manager and Ambassador. Each of these training resources and events are designed to work together to help new implementers gain confidence on the platform and develop their network in accordance with their own ministry vision, local context, and unique goals.
What is a CarePortal Implementing Partner?
These organizations are faith-based, Church-centered, and have a goal for the Church to be at the point of care for families and children in crisis. They have an interest in training church and potentially requesting agency partners to deeper in collaboration around this work, and they have (or intend to create) capacity on their team to be involved in the day-to-day use of CarePortal by their church, champion, and agency partners.

CarePortal U: Orientation Call

When a new network leader is reported to the CarePortal Training Team (either through an Implementing Partner's initial enrollment, or later through this form), a CarePortal Training Specialist will reach out to them to welcome and invite the new leader to schedule a CarePortal Orientation call. For a new hire, this invitation will occur on the leader's start date indicated in the form referenced above. This form also gives the manager or supervisor who fills it out the chance to clarify if they or others need to be included on this call. On the day of the CarePortal Orientation, a Training Specialist will cover some of the most basic aspects of getting started as a CarePortal network leader, including how to use CarePortal's Help Center and how to get started with Proficiency Training (below). |
CarePortal U: Proficiency Training

Once you get access to your CarePortal dashboard, you'll be directed to a set of tasks that show you how the platform works from within the safety of a Demo Environment. Theses tasks are broken into step-by-step instructions that guide you through some of the most common ways you'll use the platform, allowing you to physically practice and poke around for yourself. The result of this training will be a Work Space (Microsoft Word Doc) full of answers to comprehension questions and your own questions you didn't even know you had until you experienced the platform first-hand. These questions form the foundation to a self-scheduled 1-on-1 with one of our Training Specialists to review your Work Space and get the answers you need. CarePortal U: 2-Day Virtual Workshops

Designed as a mid to late-stage part of the training and onboarding process, this 2-day workshop dives deep into the features and strategies of being an implementing partner. Participants will be guided through specially-designed sessions that build onto their proficiency training guide tasks and help connect the dots for how some of the features translate to practical application in the field. The goal is a fun and interactive experience where participants walk away feeling more confident with the platform and what they can do to improve their local network. |

This online questionnaire will test each implementer's comprehension of how the CarePortal platform works, pulling from general uses and practical knowledge as well as content from the CarePortal U: Proficiency Training Guide and its Workspace Document. Becoming a certified CarePortal implementer provides added credibility for you as you serve your network thanks to additional badges, decals, and other ways that CarePortal provides its certified implementers. |

CarePortal U: Weekly Field Days

The CarePortal training team hosts this Zoom meeting every week for new and seasoned implementers, providing a protected space where they can review recent updates and ask functionality and strategy questions. Each week, the participants of the Field Day vote to decide on the topics for the following week, and plenty of time is built in for open-ended questions. This time is valuable not just for getting input from CarePortal's Training Team but also to collaborate with other implementers and learn how they're using the platform to serve in ways you may not have thought of yet! Implementing Partners can opt-in to receive individual calendar invitations for Field Days through their dashboard's User Preferences tab. |
Monthly National Calls

The monthly national call is an implementer's best chance for hearing general updates and upcoming features of the CarePortal platform as well as inspiring stories of how implementing partners across the network are seeing God move in the lives of families and kids in crisis. Calendar invitations are automatically sent to each implementer to join Monthly National Calls. |
CarePortal Leadership Intensive

Each year, in alignment with the Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO) Summit, CarePortal invites each of its implementing partners to come a couple days early and get some extra time together as a collective CarePortal network. This time is carefully scheduled to allow valuable face-to-face, relational opportunities as well as intentional and relevant training that just wouldn't work quite as well in a virtual environment. Once it's over, implementers have the privilege of staying to attend the CAFO Summit where additional ministry training opportunities are available.
