Overview
This article outlines and provides various resources to help in the general onboarding and training process for new implementing partners and network leaders. Church Ambassadors and Regional Managers each have a multi-level list of Proficiency Training tasks that incorporate most of these resources. That training can be accessed from within their respective Training & Resources page within their dashboards. However, the resources can also be reviewed and studied independently here.

General CarePortal Network Structure & Roles
The CarePortal network is known for having "a seat at the table" for everyone, regardless of their perspective, in the work of caring for kids and families in crisis. This flexibility can create confusion in trying to understand where and how everyone can fit. The illustration below and this article going deeper into each of the various roles may help bring some clarity and help you see the full ecosystem without being confused or intimidated:
Church Perspective Resources
1. Basic Platform Training Videos for Church Leaders
These videos are immediately available for church leaders when they enroll their church, even before they are approved for activation by their implementing partner. The videos focus almost entirely on platform features and set their expectations for what their local orientation with a local network leader will include and why it's needed.
2. Advanced Platform Training for Church Leaders
Each of these videos is available individually for when/if a church would like to learn how they can use the CarePortal platform to go deeper and do more than simply respond to the requests entered by their local requesting agencies. These advanced options include entering their own requests for their own response teams to help with (Church-Entered Needs), signing up and getting trained to be notified when a community responder would like to provide them with the resources to help on a specific request near their church (Connecting Church), and how to use the CarePortal Card, which is how financial contributions from those community responders are passed to them as a Connecting Church.

3. Local Orientation for Churches: Templates and Insights
Each implementing partner sets the tone and customizes the content of their church orientation. Churches are not activated until their local network leader (a Regional Manager or Ambassador) approves them.
Note: The link above can only be accessed by those who have current active network leader roles in the CarePortal network.
Agency Perspective Resources
1. Basic Platform Training Videos for Agencies
Caseworkers must be familiar with the basic uses and guidelines of how CarePortal works and what to include (and not include) on their requests. This video can be sent to agency leaders/workers ahead of their orientation training or be used as part of this orientation. Ultimately, it's this training video that helps get the fundamental best practices across to agency workers so the local network leaders who support them (Area Directors and Regional Managers) can get past the technology and spend more time leaning in on the local needs of the community.
Note: These training videos are built into each agency user's CarePortal dashboard for easy refresher training when needed.
2. Agency Rep & Supervisor Training Guide
Those who will be approving and directly interacting with agency workers need a little more insight and training so they know what kind of requests to approve and not approve, and understand how to submit requests on behalf of workers when needed. This article gives them these extra insights.
Note: This training guide is also included in the CarePortal dashboards for Agency Reps and Admins.
3. Agency Orientation: Template & Insights
Area Directors and Regional Managers are responsible for taking the lead on agency trainings in their assigned geographies, in partnership with each agency's Agency Rep(s). These trainings set the tone and build onto the Basic Platform Training Video provided above with the necessary protocols, processes, and limitations the agency will operate with. These must be determined through collaborative efforts and dialog with the agency leaders.
Note: The link above can only be accessed by those who have current active network leader roles in the CarePortal network.
Community Perspective Resources
1. Individual Community Responders
When someone learns about a CarePortal request, whether it's from a direct invitation or passively from someone sharing the request to their social media network, the platform will allow them to create a free account and respond to the request. More detail on this response process and where it goes can be found under the training and information about Connecting Churches.
Community Responders will be sent the video below with the confirmation email they receive once their new account has been created. The intention of this video is to show them how they can use the CarePortal platform to find and respond to more requests in the future.

2. Community Champions
When a business, non-profit, university, team, or other type of organization that is not a church wants to get involved in helping to meet needs, they can become a Community Champion. The responses they make to requests are treated in the same way as other Community Responders, however Champions can manage multiple Response Teams and track their collective economic impact much like a church can. The following resources are useful in understanding Community Champions:

3. Community Sponsors
When someone or a local business or organization wants to get involved in supporting their local implementing partner financially to help them expand their team and cover the costs of building their network, they can be added as Community Sponsors. These sponsors give directly to the local implementing partner and are supported by those local leaders. The following resources should help when it comes to recruiting and supporting Community Sponsors:
