Big news! We've been working on an exciting update, and we're excited to walk you through some of the changes. Not only did we freshen up CarePortal's look, but this update is a significant step towards a simpler and more user-friendly CarePortal experience. Keep reading to check out some of the updates we're most excited about and log in to your CarePortal account to see these changes today!

Cleaner, More Functional Data Tables
- Tables are more functional, with an improved ability to sort and filter.
- Many tables gained customizable columns, allowing you to show or hide columns based on the information that’s most relevant to you.
- Tables are significantly more mobile-friendly.
NEW Mobile App
- Unlike the old app, in the new CarePortal app, everything feels and works the same way in the app as it does on your desktop! This means you don't have to learn a completely new interface or set of features. Anything you can do on the web app, you can do on the mobile app. This is true of all roles!
Note: You might notice a couple of features that are still better suited to the desktop version of CarePortal, but about 95% will be mobile-friendly. Hooray!
Updated Request Engagement Experience
- Previously, there were two different experiences for engaging with an open request on the CarePortal web app. One is the newer, more updated version which was available only to Church Leaders on their ‘My Team Requests’ tab. The other was the older experience, which was available to church, community, and champion responders as well as to Church Leaders on their ‘All Requests’ tab. We know… it’s confusing. And that’s the point!
- With this update, our best, most recent version of this request engagement experience is available to all users as far as requests are found!
- This update also includes extending this format to Church Entered Needs!
- In short, anyone responding to a request or church entered need anywhere in CarePortal now has the same experience!
Multi-Org/Team Navigation
- We have made multi-org/team navigation easier! We understand that our users wear a lot of hats and sometimes that means serving across multiple organizations or teams with multiple roles. For these users, we are simplifying the navigation and no longer require you to choose a specific role you want to act as. Simply select an org/team from your drop-down and we will take care of the rest!
Updated Request Submission Process
- The request submission process got a makeover! It is now broken down into 4 parts which contain the same content, just split up into smaller, more intuitive steps.
General UX/UI Updates
- As you spend time in your dashboard, you’ll notice some general updates to the look and feel. A few of those include:
- Profile and personal information moved from the bottom left to the top right
- Many data tables in CarePortal used to have badges above them. Those badges have moved to a new 'View Totals' button accessible in the same places you'd find the badges.
- Church and Champion Settings now include helpful tabs at the top, making it easier to get to specific sections.

Will the new format allow for posting questions before committing to resourcing/helping?

Thanks for your comment, Brian! Yes, on the updated request engagement experience, all church users will be able to use the 'Ask a Question' button for any request or church entered need. Church Leader roles were already able to do this, so the primary benefit will be for any Church Responders who might want to ask a question without committing to respond to the need. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Something I feel would be helpful is having a Careportal messaging system, similar to how we can activate our team. I've struggled with my team not seeing my emails because my personal account goes to spam. .
