Introduction
The CarePortal network’s most valuable asset is trust, which is established by where requests come from and how they are vetted.
A CarePortal Vetted Request is a request approved by a trained professional from an authorized CarePortal Requesting Agency, aimed at addressing an immediate need for a family to ensure their safety, well-being and/or sustainability.
To help us protect this trust, all users associated with a requesting agency are asked to agree to the following policy guidance before submitting their first request. Once they click “I Agree” in their dashboard, they are not asked again.
CarePortal Authorized
As someone my Requesting Agency has selected to access and enter requests into CarePortal, I attest that I am:
- Qualified, through education and/or experience, to discern needs and serve children and families in crisis with first-hand knowledge of the stated needs (never entering a request on another’s behalf);
- Approved by the leadership of my Requesting Agency to include verification of all qualifications for the safe and trustworthy connection to children and families;
- Trained in all required Requesting Agency Training and ready to accept accountability to ensure that each request is promptly closed once it has been met as defined by the training I received from my Requesting Agency and local network leaders.
CarePortal Appropriate
Each and every request I enter into CarePortal will be:
- Specific to the wellbeing or case plan goals for the children and families involved, and will not contain a petition for ongoing financial support;
- Accurate by including a description without confidential information, and individually-added needs with realistically assigned values;
- Conflict-free, meaning the need is not related to a need of my own, a member of my family, and I have no personal financial interest in the request
