Community Guidelines
As a CarePortal user, you are expected to agree to the following guidelines to responsibly navigate the platform:
No Personal Information
I will not share any personal information about myself or others in any post or comment. This includes but is not limited to, names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or any other identifying details. Protecting privacy is essential to ensure the safety and security of all individuals involved in CarePortal.
Respect Others
I will be kind, considerate, and respectful when communicating with the community. This means using courteous language, avoiding any form of harassment, and being mindful of the diverse backgrounds and experiences of other users. Constructive dialogue is encouraged, but negativity, personal attacks, or discriminatory remarks are strictly prohibited.
All Posts Are Public
I understand that all posts are publicly visible and will appear in the activity feed. This means that anything I post can be seen by the entire CarePortal community, including churches, nonprofits, and other partners. I will ensure my posts are appropriate for a public audience and contribute positively to the platform.
Non-Compliance
If I do not adhere to these guidelines, I understand that CarePortal reserves the right to deactivate or suspend my account. This measure is in place to protect the community and ensure a safe, respectful environment for everyone involved.
Who Can Access Contact Information?
To protect the privacy of the children and families served by CarePortal, only approved Church Responders have access to the direct contact information of the individual who submitted the request. This ensures that:
- Responders have been trained on how to engage with families respectfully.
- Contact information is kept secure and shared only with trusted, vetted responders.
What Happens if Personal Information is Posted?
CarePortal automatically blocks any attempts to post personal contact details, such as an email address or phone number, within the platform. This prevents unapproved individuals from accessing sensitive information about vulnerable families. However, any comment posted publicly that has content violating any of the concerns listed below should be reported. Reported posts will alert the CarePortal's Support team so they can review the post and, if necessary, delete it.

How Are Logistics Coordinated?
Once an approved responder is connected to a request, CarePortal facilitates the connection of the necessary parties via email. After initial contact, the platform allows users to arrange details outside of the system to ensure smooth coordination while maintaining the privacy of all involved.
Why These Protections Matter
These safeguards align with CarePortal’s commitment to protecting children and families. The platform ensures that only those who are trained and approved can directly engage with vulnerable neighbors, while others can participate in service without accessing sensitive information.
Key Take Aways:

- Automatic Information Blocking: CarePortal blocks personal details from being posted to protect vulnerable families.
- Logistics Coordination: Responders are initially connected via the platform, with further coordination handled outside to ensure privacy.
