Mom and Dad and their two children, son age 3 and son age 1 week, are homeless. They are from Columbia and making arrangements for work and a longer-term place to stay. They are currently staying in an extended stay hotel in Blue Springs. In light of the challenges from the COVID-19 crisis and having a newborn baby, they need more time where they are before finding a more lasting housing solution. They are requesting help with additional weeks to stay where they are, to avoid homelessness. The cost is $579.60.

This request is to assist a family with three children in the home. The children recently reunified within the past 30 days and are doing very well together. The family is in urgent need of assistance with rent and utilities for the household. The mother is currently laid off from her job of many years due to the COVID-19 coronavirus threat as she works in food service, and also she must stay home to supervise her children. The family also recently lost food stamps benefits because of issues making contact for interview purposes. Mother has been calling 4x per day but is unable to get through to the food stamp office. The exact dollar amount needed to assist the family is unknown to the worker but bills can be obtained.

This mom with 10 children has struggled to get a job, with the family burden that she is carrying. Caseworker has been working with this family since January. Since January, the family has had no water. They have barrels at the house that neighbors have tried to keep full for the family's use. This has been a difficult and dangerous situation, and now a house with 10 kids and no running water is extremely dangerous with the coronavirus pandemic. To turn the water back on requires payment of the past due amount of $1,328.06. This is an urgent need. This mom is Spanish speaking, and also really needs some ongoing relationship, care, and wrap-around support.
