This article is intended to outline the steps to respond to a CarePortal request as a Church or Community Responder.

- Click "Yes, I can help!"
Note: If you're not logged in or don't have an account, it will prompt you to create one. If you want to join your church's response team, be sure to select your church during the sign up process. - Mark the checkbox next to the item(s) that you'd like to commit to helping with
- Confirm or edit the quantity or amount for each item

- Type a custom message explaining how you'd like to help. Keep in mind, this message will be posted publicly with the request.
Note: Depending on your location, your role, or your team's settings (if you're on a response team), this message will go to either the Caseworker, a specially trained church leader near the family, or your Team Leader. - Select how you want to help:
Should be selected when you either have this item already, or are going to purchase it yourself Should be selected when you want to give through the CarePortal platform to equip a local church to meet this need. (This will trigger a follow-up step for you to select a contribution source for the money you are giving.)
Responding to a Request From the Mobile App
- Tap the Requests tab at the bottom
- Find a request you want to respond to and tap "Yes I Can Help!"
- Click the orange button at the bottom to respond
- To provide an item, adjust or confirm the quantity you will provide and tap the checkbox to select that item. To fund an item, adjust the amount you will fund and tap the checkbox to select that item.
- Type a custom message explaining how you'd like to help. Keep in mind, this message will be posted publicly with the request.
Note: Depending on your location, your role, or your team's settings (if you're on a response team), this message will go to either the Caseworker, a specially trained church leader near the family, or your Team Leader. - Tap the Provide Items button or the Fund Items button to submit your response.
