Across the CarePortal network, truly excellent partners and leaders serve and engage in such a way that deserve to be recognized. The contributions and collaboration of these valuable partners, representing the Church, Community, Requesting Agency, and Network Leaders, are what make the CarePortal network what it is, and your nominations are critical to identifying who should be recognized!
This year's CarePortal Annual Awards will be presented at the 2025 CarePortal Conference in Kansas City, Missouri from April 28-30, 2025. Award recipients will be recognized at the CarePortal Celebration Banquet in Kansas City Missouri on Tuesday April 29, 2025.
If your nominee(s) is chosen as an award recipient, they would ideally attend the Celebration Banquet to accept their award. In the event that this is not possible, a designated network leader could receive the award on their behalf.
These awards include the following:
- CarePortal Church of the Year
- CarePortal Agency of the Year
- CarePortal Community Champion of the Year
- CarePortal Network of the Year
- CarePortal Network Leader of the Year
CarePortal Church of the Year
This category of awards will recognize CarePortal Churches that display the heart of Matthew 25 in serving "the least of these" in their community.
A church that is nominated could include any of the following criteria/qualities:
- Has made lasting connections in the community with children and families
- Is regularly engaged in responding and meeting requests
- Shows evidence of impact through members engaging with requests/families
- Regularly attends and engages in Active Community meetings
- Collaborates with other churches and partners
- Creatively serves and partners with requesting agencies
- Is innovative and creative in how they build and equip their response team(s) to engage

CarePortal Agency of the Year
This category of awards will recognize CarePortal Requesting Agency partners that protect the trust through submitting vetted requests and honor the church’s place at the point of care.
A Requesting Agency that is nominated could include any of the following criteria/qualities:
- Collaborates with local network leaders regularly and with excellence
- Advocates for, cares about, and are subject matter experts on the clients/families they serve
- Values the partnership and collaborates with local churches
- Displays commitment in using CarePortal effectively and in accordance with training
- Advocates for the use of CarePortal across the community
- Regularly submits vetted requests, responds to churches promptly, and closes requests in a timely manner
- Collaborates with other agencies, churches, and partners across the county/region/state

CarePortal Community Champion of the Year
This award will recognize a CarePortal Community Champion who has impacted their local network in a major way, not just with the resources they've offered but also the collaboration they've modeled and the culture they've built within their own team.
A Champion of the Year that is nominated could include any of the following criteria/qualities:
- Awareness of and demonstrated concern for the challenges families are facing in their community
- Willingness and posture to partner with churches at the point of care
- Collaborates with network leaders and other partners
- Culture of wanting to give generously to support the community around them
- Active participant in growing the network (inviting other businesses, churches, partners)
- Displays creativity and excellence in equipping and leading team(s) within organization
- Regularly responds (fund/provide) to requests, not limited to their network

This award will recognize a CarePortal Network that consistently and effectively pursues meaningful connections, and represents a picture of what’s possible through the CarePortal platform. This network brings together churches, requesting agencies, community champions, and other partners for the common goal of “more than enough care for every child.”
A Network of the Year that is nominated could include any of the following criteria/qualities:
- Hosts consistent and effective Active Community Gatherings
- Has the whole ecosystem represented (Churches, Requesting Agencies, IPs, Community Champions, etc.) in a healthy and complete request/response loop
- Includes a large and diverse representation of churches, requesting agencies, and community champions
- Effectively and creatively collaborates and works together to meet needs and make meaningful connections
- Consistently displays courage, humility, and excellence throughout partnerships and engagement
- Prioritizes dignity for families that are served through the platform
- Displays local ownership and high level of autonomy as its own, functioning and healthy network

CarePortal Network Leader of the Year (Inspired by Ryan Benton)
Ryan Benton was an inspiring example of what it means to develop and lead a network before passing away suddenly in 2018. This award is intended to honor a certified network leader (Field Director, Area Director, Regional Manager, Church Ambassador) that has exemplified excellence in their role.
A network leader that is nominated could include any of the following criteria/qualities:
- Displays “Courage, Humility, and Excellence” in the ways that they lead their network
- Is committed to more than enough care for every child
- Has a personal connection to the mission and shared experiences that fuel their passion
- Shares the mission with others and invites/inspires them to join
- Thinks and acts purposefully and strategically
- Is regularly involved and serves as an integral part of the National CarePortal Network
- Serves as a certified Field Director, Area Director, Regional Manager, or Church Ambassador (CarePortal Direct or Implementing Partner)
Award Package:
